Timothy J. Cooney, former Worcester mayor and executive director of the Central Massachusetts Chapter of the National Safety Council, has been named to the board of directors of the Westborough-based Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts.
Cooney served as Worcester’s mayor in 1987 and was a city councilor for 20 years. His achievements include introducing a probation alternative traffic school, a motorcycle training course, a regular and handicapped driving school and a safety center in Central Massachusetts.
