Consumers, cell phones getting "very personal"

Love is in the air this summer – at least for people and their cell phones. A new survey sponsored by Ingenio Inc. found that 63 percent of people said their cell phones are "very personal" to them and 44 percent said their phones have strengthened personal relationships. Women and adults under the age of 34 were more likely to have personal attachment to their phones. Conversely, 55 percent of men surveyed said that their cell phones have made them too accessible. When it comes to mobile versus land lines, 85 percent have cell phones while only 71 percent have home phones. Among adults 18 to 34 years old, the number of cell phone users jumps to 89 percent while only 57 percent use home phones.
