Consumer prices in the Boston area increased 0.7 percent from October to November, led by an 11.5-percent increase in energy prices.
Excluding energy, prices actually declined on a monthly basis. But compared to last year, prices in New England have been on the rise. The index for food increased 0.9 percent, thanks in large part to increases in the prices for meats, poultry and fish.
Nationally, the yearly increase in prices totaled 1.1 percent.
