Consumer Confidence Slips, Slides

After a sharp decline in March, consumer confidence fell still further in April, according to the Conference Board .

The board’s Consumer Confidence Index hit 62.3 in April, down from 65.9 in March. The board’s Present Situation Index remained stable, rising to 50.1 in April from 49.4 in March.
