Construction at the Lakeway Commons site that will host a Whole Foods, offices and housing in Shrewsbury at the former site of Spag’s retail sore is set to take place in May, as the developer continues to secure leases for the property.
The developer has secured four new leases with the signing of Visionworks, Sweet Pizza, Unibank and Jenny Boston. These new tenants will add to the development’s aim for a high-end location with quality tenants, said Howard Grossman, president of Grossman Development Group, who is handling the redevelopment of the site.
A groundbreaking is set to take place in early to mid May with the demolition and site work expected to take approximately four to six weeks.
Lakeway Commons is a 375,000-square-foot mixed-use development that will be made up of 100,000 square feet of retail, 250 apartments, 14 town homes and anchored by a 50,000-square-foot Whole Foods.
