Walker Development & Construction Management has moved from Westborough to Marlborough in large part for what the firm says is a key site off I-495.
Walker Development, a six-year-old firm with 30 employees, is now at 5 Mount Royal Ave. in Marlborough, part of the newly rebranded Knowledge Park, the former Mount Royal Office Park off Route 20 next to Apex Center of New England.
The 160,000-square-foot Knowledge Park complex sold for $8.6 million to Wakefield firm CB Equities Mt. Royal in 2017. The listed principals of that firm are John Conley, Robert MacNamara and Robert MacNamara, Jr., according to corporation filings with the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth.
Walker Development CEO Jeff Walker said in announcing the move Thursday the firm left its 33 Lyman St. location in Westborough after deciding that Marlborough was the ideal location for growing its construction management business. Walker has worked on projects including the Spring Bank Pharmaceuticals research and develoment facility in Hopkinton and The Gauge office complex in Waltham.
