Consigli Building Group, an entity affiliated with Milford-based Consigli Construction, has agreed to purchase the New Jersey and New York construction operations of Lendlease, a global real estate firm based in Australia.
The agreement will see Consigli take over 45 current, under contract, or pre-construction projects, according to a press release issued by the company on Tuesday. Employees associated with these projects will become Consigli workers.
“Expanding our New York and New Jersey portfolio with the addition of Lendlease, a highly complementary business to ours, signifies our dedication to growth and excellence in this core market,” Anthony Consigli, CEO of Consigli Construction and a member of the WBJ Hall of Fame, said in the press release. “As we leverage our combined strengths, expertise, and capabilities, we’re poised to deliver heightened value to our clients with the greater ability to tackle more complex and ambitious projects.”
Lendlease has been involved in a number of high-profile projects in New York City, including the construction of the National September 11 Memorial & Museum and the Central Park Tower, a $3-billion residential skyscraper and the second-tallest building in the city. Other New York City projects the firm has been involved in include various renovations and upgrades to the American Museum of Natural History and an expansion of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
Founded in 1905, Consigli Construction has more than 1,600 employees and 13 regional offices across North America, according to the firm’s website. The firm is employee-owned.
