Consigli Building Group on Wednesday announced it is launching a new energy division to help companies meet needs for construction or renovating buildings to be environmentally friendly.
The Milford company, whose 2019 revenues totalled $1.8 billion, said the division called Arch Energy will include energy optimization, such as LED lighting, networked lighting controls and peak energy loan management, and retrofitting, including water and heating systems. It will include smart building systems monitoring energy use, financing and battery storage.
Larger infrastructure is included in the division, such as central heating, chiller and geothermal plants, as well as electric vehicle charging stations.
Consigli said it has previously worked on environmentally friendly energy projects with clients including the Cambridge Housing Authority, UMass Amherst, Boston College, Insulet Corp. in Acton and General Electric.
Kailash Viswanathan has been appointed Consigli’s director of energy as part of the creation of the new division, and Steven Burke has been promoted to director of sustainability. Burke gives Consigli what it says is one of just three commercial builders nationwide with someone on staff who has a certified passive house consultant certification.
