Concord-based software company aPriori has inked a reseller agreement with a Chinese firm that will allow aPriori to sell its platform to Chinese manufacturers.
Under the agreement, Beijing RAINFE Technology Company will market, sell, implement and support aPriori’s product cost management software to its clients in the aerospace, marine, defense, automotive and energy industries, according to a statement from both companies.
The aPriori platform helps clients reduce product costs and increase profitability, according to the statement, and it complements RAINFE’s experience in manufacturing design, product development, engineering and related services.
Factors like rising labor rates and new government regulation in China are increasing demand for the services the aPriori cost management platform offers —real-time cost information on partial and complete products — according to Kevin Zhao, CEO of RAINFE.
“The ability to provide real-time product cost data on demand across the enterprise will enable our customers to drive new levels of efficiency and profitability in their businesses and gain (a) real competitive advantage,” Zhao said.
aPriori, which employs more than 200 engineers and consultants, has similar partnerships with companies in the U.S. and Europe. Scott Carlyle, vice president of global sales for the company, called the agreement with RAINFE a “tremendous opportunity” for both firms.
“Partnering with an established player with such strong engineering capabilities and domain expertise enables aPriori to deliver the best solution and support possible to manufacturers in China,” Carlyle said. “This is a tremendous opportunity for both companies.”
