The Community Foundation of North Central Mass. received $160,000 in grants from the Massachusetts COVID-19 Relief Fund, the organization announced on Wednesday.
The funds will be distributed to nonprofits in North Central Mass. to provide food, housing, emotional support and other essential services to area residents in need. The Massachusetts COVID-19 Relief Fund was created by Massachusetts First Lady Lauren Baker and the One8 Foundation of Boston.
With the addition of the $160,000 the foundation will have distributed $260,000 to North Central Mass. organizations this year.
The funds will be distributed to: Catholic Charities of Worcester County, Leominster Food Pantry, Crossing over Inc., Dr. Franklin Perkins School, Friends of Hubbardston Senior Center, Ginny's Helping Hand, Heywood Hospital, Horace Mann Educational Associates Inc., L.U.K., MOC, New England Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America, North Star Family Services, Our Father's House, United Way of North Central Massachusetts, Virginia Thurston Healing Garden, WHEAT Community Connection and the YWCA Central MA Domestic Violence Services.
