Community Foundation CEO Ann Lisi to retire in June

Ann T. Lisi, the president and CEO of the Greater Worcester Community Foundation, will retire at the end of June.
A search committee has been formed to find a replacement for Lisi, who has led the organization as executive director since 1992. She joined the foundation in 1989 as a program officer.
In a press release, the organization said the transition was announced to members in October by Chairman Gerald Gates.
“Ann has expanded the Foundation’s leadership role on behalf of nonprofits, enhanced donor engagement, and pioneered initiatives that will have a lasting impact on our community,” he said. “Thanks to Ann's guidance, the Foundation is in a strong position on all major fronts — we're ready to face the transition ahead.”
Lisi leaves the organization after it grew from $24 million to now over $155 million with more than 550 named funds that award nonprofits up to $8 million annually.
She’s credited with leading several initiatives and programs including nonprofit management, diversity, leadership, creativity, environmental stewardship, family programming and civic engagement
In a statement, Lisi said it has been her “greatest honor” to serve the Worcester area.
“The people who are engaged in community building — nonprofit leaders, community activists, donors from all walks of life, and colleagues across the country — bring an astonishing array of talent,” she said. ”Their commitment and creative spirit are what holds our communities together, no matter what stresses we encounter.”
The candidate search is expected to begin next month.
