Columbia Tech, the contract manufacturing division of Worcester’s Coghlin Cos., has received a certification allowing it to handle sensitive military projects.
The company earned the registration from the U.S. Department of State under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, which control the manufacture, export and transfer of defense products, information and services.
The certification demonstrates that the company has the knowledge and corporate procedures to comply with ITAR requirements.
In a statement, the company said the certification will allow it to extend its work with defense industry customers that require high security and confidentiality.
