Collaborative Awards $30,000 For Digital Games Technology

The Massachusetts Technology Collaborative (MTC) has awarded $30,000 to the Worcester-based Massachusetts Digital Games Institute to improve software technologies and increase industry-academic collaboration within the state's digital games industry.

The award was announced at today's ceremonial ribbon-cutting to celebrate the opening of the institute, also known as MassDiGI, at Becker College. MassDiGI will serve as a statewide institute representing a partnership between the digital games industry, academia and the public sector to boost economic development and job creation in the industry.

MassDiGI is expected to begin operations early next year. It will be guided by a 19-member advisory board, which includes business, education, and community leaders and is chaired by Becker President Robert E. Johnson.
