Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in New England has acquired the assets of Hammond Residential Real Estate Group LLC in Chestnut Hill, the company announced on Wednesday.
Citing data from the 2016 REAL Trends Market Leaders report, Coldwell said the deal combines the operations of the top company in 2015 sales volume with the number three company, Hammond, which has 16 offices and more than 400 sales professionals and employees.
The acquired entities will continue to conduct business as Hammond Residential Real Estate during the transition. Hammond Residential Real Estate was established in 1991 by Saul B. Cohen and Joseph Hare.
Coldwell, a subsidiary of NRT LLC, will now have 99 offices and more than 4,400 sales professionals and staff in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. Merit McIntyre will continue to serve as president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in New England and Cohen will join the company and serve as chairman.
"We made our decision based on what was in the best interest of our Greater Boston clients and agents, many of whom Joe Hare and I have known for more than 25 years," Cohen said in a statement. "We chose to combine our efforts with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage over any other company because of the incredible resources and technology that the agents can utilize. With so many advantages, we are confident the agents will surpass their clients' expectations."
