Natick-based machine sensor company Cognex Corp. has promoted President and COO Robert Willett to CEO, while former CEO Robert J. Shillman will become chief culture officer and remain chairman of the board.
Willett has been with the company for three years. As president and COO, he was responsible for sales, marketing, product development and operation. Now, he is also taking on global finance and administration functions.
Shillman will focus on seeking out new technologies, markets and acquisitions and maintaining the company’s corporate culture.
