Cognex Corp. has settled a patent suit with Fuji Machine Manufacturing Co. Ltd. and its American subsidiary Fuji America Corp.
Fuji was one of about 20 companies sued last year by the Natick-based company, which makes vision sensors used in a variety of commercial and industrial applications. The suit was filed with the U.S. International Trade Commission and Federal Court in Massachusetts, and claims that companies have imported and sold products that use vision sensor technology invented and patented by Cognex.
The company also claims that the marketing of certain company software by others also violates existing patents.
Terms of the Fuji settlement were not disclosed.
