Natick’s Cognex Corp. has sued Cambridge-based MvTec LLC and its German parent MvTec Software claiming that the company has infringed upon at least seven Cognex patents.
The suit asks the U.S. District Court in Boston to stop MvTec from making and selling its Halcon machine vision software. Cognex is also seeking unspecified damages in compensation for past patent infringement, the company said. The suit also names Fuji America Corp., which sells equipment that incorporates MvTec Halcon software.
Cognex, which makes machine vision sensors that monitor and automate assembly lines and other processes, recently won a patent infringement case against Acacia Research Corp.
