Natick’s Cognex Corp. had record-setting revenues of $84.9 million in the fourth quarter of 2010, up from $51.3 million in the same quarter the previous year.
The company, which makes visual sensors used in manufacturing, saw profits of $19.8 million for the quarter, up from $459,000 in Q4 2009.
In a statement, Cognex said it also gained ground in the solar and pharmaceutical industries, which it is targeting for future growth.
For the full year, Cognex’s position also improved, with $290.7 million in revenue and $61.4 million in profits. In 2009, the company had a net loss of $4.9 million on revenues of $175.7 million.
Cognex also announced a quarterly dividend of $0.08 per share, payable on March 18.
