Cognex Boosts Q3 Guidance

Cognex Corp., the Natick-based developer of machine vision sensors, has upped its earnings guidance for the third quarter.
The company said it now expects to report revenue between $74 million and $76 million rather than the $65 million and $68 million it planned for nearly two months ago.
Strong demand from the factory automation market, which accounts for nearly 70 percent of the company's business, prompted the revenue update.
Cognex is holding an analyst day for institutional investors at its headquarters today.
The company makes vision sensors used in factories to guide, inspect, gauge and identify products.
