Worcester medical device contract manufacturer Cogmedix is expanding its facilities and moving into a new headquarters at an 80,000-square-foot building in West Boylston.
The company, a subsidiary of Westborough-based Coghlin Cos., will still maintain some space at its 17 Briden St. property. Incubator Massachusetts Biomedical Initiatives is moving into about 20,000-square-foot of that property, but Cogmedix will still maintain some operations at the 53,000-square-foot building.
The new West Boylston facility, however, is now Cogmedix’ new home. The 127 Hartwell St. facility, which Cogmedix is leasing, was expanded for the company by about 25,000 square feet and the entire building was renovated.
According to a press release about 200 employees will work in the single-story facility, which features multiple engineering and laser labs, certified cleanroom space, multiple training areas and a dedicated customer convenience center.
"Our new facility allows for significant growth and opportunity and will undoubtedly drive deeper collaboration and efficiency in all areas of our business as we remain passionately focused on a positive, compliant and efficient workplace culture,” said President and CEO Chris Coghlin.
According to West Boylston town records, the company’s expansion was approved last May.
