Having hired a director of global field service operations, Coghlin Cos. of Worcester will expand its national field service and support group globally, the contract manufacturing and engineering firm announced today.
"This global field service offering is such a great value to our clients, not only to build and engineer their product, but also to be able to install and support it when requested," said the new director, Michael Triber, who is based in Worcester. "Field services can be extremely cost effective for clients because they have access to our expert team and do not need to invest in developing a full-time team of their own. This allows them to focus their time and resources on their core competencies and overall technology and product advancement."
About half of the companies products are manufactured for customers outside the United States, according to Sarah Fisher, a spokeswoman for Coghlin.
Coghlin has three divisions – DCI Engineering, Columbia Tech and Cogmedix. Earlier this month, Columbia Tech expanded with a new facility in Westborough that adds 68,000 square feet of warehouse, distribution, manufacturing and office space. DCI and Cogmedix are based in West Boylston.
