CMC Consulting Group, an international health care strategy and M&A advisory firm with operations in Framingham, said it has acquired Boston-based investment bank Johnston Blakely & Co.
Johnston Blakely is a registered broker-dealer that offers private equity placement and M&A-related services to companies in the life sciences industry.
Gabriele Brambilla, managing director of CMC's Boston operations, said in a statement that the life sciences focus is a good fit for CMC.
"Johnston Blakely's activities in biopharmaceuticals and the ancillary services sectors closely complement CMC's expertise in medical devices and equipment," Brambilla said.
Benjamin Conway, managing director and founder of Johnston Blakely, said that making his firm a part of CMC provides a combination of strategic consulting and transaction execution services, which he said "results in a more seamless interface and more efficient process."
Conway will join CMC as managing director. The firms did not disclose financial details of the deal, which is subject to regulatory approval.
