Ellen McGovern, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of Clinton Savings Bank, has been named board chair of Framingham’s United Way of Tri-County as of Aug. 1.
“The mission of the United Way of Tri-county resonates with me on a deeply personal level. I am proud for the last four years to be part of an organization whose mission is to increase the organized capacity of people to care for one another in our communities that can produce significant and measurable results in the areas of education, income and health,” said McGovern in a Thursday press release.
United Way of Tri County reported $11.8 million in revenue and almost $6 million in assets in FY 2021 according to their IRS Form 990. They serve 34 communities in Norfolk, Middlesex, and Worcester counties.
McGovern, a Worcester State University grad with an MBA from Nichols College in Dudley, has been with Clinton Savings Bank for over 22 years.
Recognized for her public service, McGovern has served on the boards for the Nashua Valley Council Boy Scouts of America which has since merged into the Heart of New England Council in Rutland, Robert F. Kennedy Children’s Action Corps in Lancaster, was a volunteer on the Shrewsbury High School Committee, and is acknowledged as a Girl Scout Woman of Distinction.
