Industrial properties in Clinton, Gloucester and Wilmington and an office building in Framingham have been added to a nonprofit's list of properties available to businesses for immediate occupancy and development, while 12 properties have come off the list since the start of 2017 with companies like Amazon, Bose and Lifoam taking on new spaces for business development.
MassEcon reported Tuesday that its 10-year-old Ready Mass 100 list of available large properties currently has 76 listings, down from 79 at this time a year ago. "We've been in sort of an equilibrium mode over the last couple of years," MassEcon senior director Doug Kehlhem said in a statement.
The non-profit developed the list by working with real estate experts and public officials. Officials say the goal is to make expansion opportunities known to businesses to both retain companies that are based in Massachusetts and attract interest from out-of-state companies. Sites on the list meet criteria for infrastructure, permitting, size and readiness, according to MassEcon.
The newly listed industrial sites are the former Weetabix Complex, a more than 400,000 square foot campus in Clinton; 11 Dory Road in Gloucester; and 613 Main Street in Wilmington. The newly listed office property is 9-90 Corporate Center located at 200 Staples Drive in Framingham.
MassEcon says its list since 2009 "has resulted in more than 50 success stories that represent about seven million square feet."
