Employees at the new Electric Hydrogen facility, Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions’ new headquarters, and other Devens-based businesses will soon have a new option for a post-work brew, as Clinton-based Sterling Street Brewery is set to open a location in the regional enterprise zone on Thursday.
Sterling Street’s second location, first announced in October, will open at 4 p.m on Thursday at 65 Jackson Road, according to a Facebook post made by the brewery. Construction continues at the site, but a portion of the brewery’s outdoor patio will be available to use during opening day.
Sterling Street Brewery elected to open the Devens location following a June announcement King Street Properties, the Boston-based real estate developer who owns the property, was seeking a brewery to occupy the site. The location is part of King Street’s Pathway Devens project, a $1-billion, 700,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing campus.
“This is an amazing opportunity for a strong brewery partner given that the area is currently underserved by breweries and because there are 28,000 people within a five-mile radius on any given day,” Tyson Reynoso, managing director and partner at King Street, said in the June press release.
Sterling Street Brewery first began operating at its Clinton location in 2020. The microbrewery is the 20th largest brewer in Central Massachusetts, according to data provided to the WBJ Research Department, brewing 700 barrels of beer in 2022.
