The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center is now offering funding for commercial-scale and large multifamily solar hot water projects.
The quasi-public agency, created in 2008 and funded by a surcharge on state residents’ electricity bills, is now accepting applications for pre-design study grants. Eligible applicants can receive up to $10,000 with a 25 percent cost-sharing agreement.
The pilot program follows a residential solar program launched in February.
The center will accept applications starting next month for design and construction grants. To be eligible, a property owner must be a customer of NStar, National Grid, Unitil or Western Massachusetts Electric Co., or of a municipal power company that participates in MassCEC’s Renewable Energy Trust Fund.
