The School of Management at Clark University is launching a bachelor’s in marketing program in response to student interest and market demand, the Worcester school announced on Thursday.
The degree program will become available this fall.
"This will make Clark University and the School of Management an attractive destination for students interested in marketing careers,” said school of management dean, Alan Eisner, in a statement. “Enrollment numbers in the marketing classes we [have] have steadily grown, and we expect that trend to continue.”
The marketing program will include business classes, marketing specific courses and a capstone. Students will learn about markets, consumers, organizations, and will also take classwork in applying marketing principles to analysis of customer behavior, according to the announcement.
The school pointed to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor statistics, which indicate marketing careers will be in high demand for the next eight years, with the market research analyst jobs growing at a rate of 18%. Other occupations, in turn, are growing at an average of 5.2%.
