Clark University will soon have a new on-campus dining services provider, as the school’s Food Service Operations Committee has selected Pennsylvania-based Harvest Table Culinary Group as its next hospitality partner.
This move will see the end of Clark’s relationship with Sodexo, a French company that had provided hospitality services for the school since 2007.
The decision resulted in 154 Sodexo employees being laid off, according to a WARN report filed by Sodexo to the MassHire Department of Career Services on April 8. However, Clark and Harvest Table will offer hourly dining employees the opportunity to remain employed with the same pay and benefit structure as they had previously, according to an April 1 letter to students from the university provided to WBJ.
Harvest Table provides dining services to a number of Massachusetts colleges, including Brandeis University in Waltham.
The new provider will result in the option to order food for mobile delivery and will allow for more late-night food options for students, according to the letter.
Harvest Table will take over operation at Clark on June 1.
