Clark University has appointed a new dean of its School of Management, who will begin in the new role in September.
Alan Eisner, the new dean announced Monday by the Worcester school, was most recently the associate dean for graduate programs at the Lubin School of Business at Pace University in New York, where he served on the faculty since 1997.
Eisner received his Ph.D. from the Stern School of Business at New York University. He has a bachelor's degree in operations research and industrial engineering and a master's degree in engineering management, both from Cornell University.
Eisner is a notable early hire for David Fithian, who became Clark's new president this summer. Fithian, a 1987 Clark graduate and most recently an executive vice president at the University of Chicago, succeeded David Angel, who led Clark for a decade.
Eisner succeeds Priscilla Elsass, who served as the dean of the School of Management since January 2019. Elsass was before that role the interim dean of the Graduate School of Management and has been a member of the Clark faculty for 25 years. She's now an associate professor of management.
