Title: Financial Advisor
Company: Edward Jones
Company location: Leominster
Residence: Sterling
Career highlights:
Today I work as a financial advisor for Edward Jones. I interface directly with the individual investor and business owner to help them understand and reach their financial goals. After graduating from the University of Vermont I worked for five years at a major mutual fund company. Opportunity struck and I moved back to Vermont to work for a start-up as director of sales and marketing. When that company was dissolved I realized I missed working in the financial services industry, especially helping and educating the individual investor. That is when I decided to move back to my hometown, Sterling, and began working with my father at Edward Jones in April 2005.
Community involvement:
I am an active member of both my local Rotary Club and the Sterling Chocksett Club. I now have the ability to give back to my community all of the things that I have gotten from it in the past. I don’t see volunteering as a once in a while activity. As long as I am able to give, I plan to continue working as a volunteer.
Biggest success:
My biggest success professionally is the opportunity I have now to work with my father. I felt it was an honor that my father had enough respect for me as a businesswoman that he would invite me to share, and eventually succeed him, in his business.
Dream job:
It may sound cliché but I am in my ultimate dream job!
Businessperson she most admires and why:
The businessman I admire the most is my father. I am told on a regular basis from various business contacts that my father is one of the most honest people that they have worked with. I admire him for starting his business from scratch and building it for 13 years to the success it is today. Furthermore, I am thankful, that he was able to build such a successful and sustainable business to pass along to me. I can only hope that in my tenure I will be as successful and respected as he has been in his.
