Westborough software firm AbleBridge on Wednesday was acquired by Chicago company Crowe Horwath LLP, which plans to use the company to establish a Boston-area office.
The Westborough company was founded in 2007 and develops and sells industry software solutions built upon the Microsoft Dynamics Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform. AbleBridge's flagship industry solution, BenefitsBridge, provides insurance benefits brokers with a specialized agency management solution.
In addition to insurance, AbleBridge also services organizations in the manufacturing, broker-dealer, wealth management, construction and professional services areas.
Crowe is one of the largest public accounting, consulting and technology firms in the U.S. As part of the transaction, Crowe has acquired all of AbleBridge's intellectual property. AbleBridge’s founder Ryan Plourde will join Crowe as a principal in performance consulting. Crowe will retain the company as a Boston-area office, according to a release from Crowe.
The finances of the deal were not disclosed.
