Area restaurateurs and longtime friends Son Vo and Tam Le have officially opened Chashu Ramen + Izakaya at 38 Franklin St. in Worcester, the duo announced in a press release this week.
Casting Chashu as a chef-driven, Japanese-inspired restaurant, the pair turned to Worcester after several other restaurant ventures in Southbridge, Shrewsbury, Quincy and Dorchester. This is the first time they have started a restaurant together.
The restaurant will feature a variety of ramen, as well as an izakaya menu comprised of small plates designed for sharing. The full menu will feature Asian-inspired dishes from around the world, as well as a full bar featuring Japanese whiskey and sake, according to a press release.
Vo runs Kaizen Sushi bar in Sturbridge and Pho Sure in Shrewsbury. Le is behind Pho Linh in Quincy and Reign Drink Lab in Dorchester, as well as Reign Hospitality Group.
The restaurant will be open Monday through Saturday and is currently accepting reservations.
