A vacant former Rite Aid pharmacy in Milford may be converted into a Chase Bank, pending approval from the town planning board, which will meet Tuesday night.
Chase Bank in collaboration with Bohler Engineering, a national firm with offices in Southborough, has applied to redevelop 3,580 square feet of the former pharmacy into a bank.
The building is a total of 10,940 square feet, so the remaining 7,360 square feet that is not used for the bank will be retained for future retail use, according to a recommendation letter from Milford Town Planner Larry Dunkin.
In his letter, Dunkin noted issues with vehicle circulation at the proposed site.
“The proposed circulation pattern is still problematic even with the proposed changes,” he wrote.
The plan calls for an extension of the queue leading up to the drive-through window. The existing pharmacy pick-up window will be converted into a drive-up ATM. It will require an addition of six stacking spaces on top of the two existing spaces and is to be extended around the end of the building.
Dunkin recommended the planning board approve an amended site plan to further extend the queue.
The site is located at 7 Medway St. in Milford, in a plaza anchored by a Big Y supermarket. The property is assessed by the Town of Milford at $7.64 million, according to the town’s assessor database.
The site plan review is scheduled for Tuesday planning board meeting at 7:00 p.m.
