Charter Business, a division of Charter Communications, Inc., will offer faster Internet download speeds to commercial customers in Central Massachusetts, the company announced Monday.
By providing download speeds of 60 megabytes per second (MBps) and 80 MBps on its Essentials30 and Pro50 offerings, the company said it will “provide unmatched bandwidth options” throughout the region. Charter said it will not increase prices due to faster download speeds. According to Charter’s website, basic Internet packages for business customers start at $65 a month.
“Businesses today are doing more with their Internet services than ever before and we are providing our (Charter Business) customers unmatched value with the fastest speeds and the most robust suites of products and services available in our markets,” Charter Business President Don Detampel said in a statement.
In addition to faster download speeds, the company said it will also increase upstream speed in its Pro 100 package, from 5 MBPs to 7 MBps at no extra cost. All changes are now in effect for new and existing customers.
