Charlton Firm Announces Development Pact

Charlton-based INCOM Inc. announced it will jointly develop a technology with The Argonne National Laboratory in Illinois that will be used in medicine, physics and national security.

The two organizations will develop and commercialize large-area microchannel plate (MCP) detectors under a license agreement finalized by Argonne this month.

MCP detectors are used to detect particles (electrons or ions) and impinging radiation (ultraviolet radiation and X-rays). This is a critical technology for a wide variety of imaging applications ranging from medicine and physics to national security, INCOM said.
