Charles River Bank, headquartered in Medway, has promoted Derek Plourde to president and CEO, according to a Tuesday announcement.
Plourde joined Charles River Bank in 2018 and served as the bank’s executive vice president and chief operating officer before being promoted by the board of directors, according to the release.
With a 25-year career in the financial services sector, Plourde has experience in commercial lending, financial analysis, specialty lending, special assets, and relationship management.
“We are confident that Derek can successfully navigate challenges presented by the ever-changing regulatory environment of banking, continual advancements in technology, and the impact of the ongoing global pandemic so that Charles River Bank remains the preeminent community bank in our market area,” said Steven Richardson, chairman of the board of directors, in the announcement.
Plourde graduated from Bowdoin College in Maine and is currently completing a three-year program at University of Wisconsin-Madison Graduate School of Banking.
