State Sen. Harriette L. Chandler of Worcester will continue to serve as assistant vice-chair of the Senate Committee on Ways and Means.
Ways and Means is the legislature’s most powerful committee.
Senate President Therese Murray has reappointed the senator to the position, which also makes her the vice-chair of the temporary Joint Committee on Federal Stimulus Oversight. In that capacity, Chandler will help coordinate efforts with the governor’s office to maximize federal assistance for the state and recommend new ways for the state to stimulate the economy.
