Beth Reynolds, who has lead membership outreach and event programming for the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce for the last three years, has accepted the job of economic development director for the Town of Ashland, starting Jan. 4.
This is a new position for the town. Reynolds’ hiring follows the creation of a new economic development strategy by Ashland town leaders. An Ashland resident who previously worked as director of catering at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel and Conference Room, Reynolds said she will leverage her existing relationships with local businesses to strengthen the connection with Town Hall, as well as focus on recruiting new companies to town.
In an interview, Reynolds called her time with the chamber “very rewarding.”
“I’ve made so many connections and I’ve really enjoyed helping businesses grow,” she said.
It’s been a year of transition for the MetroWest Chamber of Commerce. Former President and CEO Bonnie Biocchi left the organizations to take a job with Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester. Paul Joseph, an entrepreneur and former Natick selectmen, replaced her in September.
Reynolds said her position with the chamber will be posted in January.
