CFOs like their job, not their subordinates

Company CFOs really like their jobs, and they don't think anyone else can do it as well as they can, according to the results of a new survey from Robert Half Management Resources.

The survey asked CFOs whether they had identified their successors. Half said 83 percent of the 1,400 CFOs who responded said they hadn't.

The reason most, 74 percent, said they hadn't begun grooming anyone for the job was that they weren't planning on leaving any time soon.

Half said 12 percent of respondents said they hadn't chosen a successor because there were no qualified candidates working in their organizations.
