CEO Turnover Heats Up In July

In July, turnover among CEOs reached its highest point since last summer, according to Challenger, Gray & Christmas.
Challenger, an outplacement firm, said 126 CEOs left their positions during July compared to 105 the prior month. In July 2008, 124 CEOs announced they were leaving their companies.
A total of 733 have left their jobs this year, down 14 percent from the 848 departures announced by this time last year.
The health care industry leads the pack with 121 departures followed by the government and nonprofit sector, which saw 89 CEOs leave so far this year.
