The Worcester Telegram & Gazette, the Sentinel & Enterprise of Fitchburg and Leominster and the MetroWest Daily News were among the 13 newspapers honored as newspapers of the year by the New England Newspaper & Press Association.
The Sentinel and Telegram both won awards for their weekday editions, and the Telegram was also honored for its Sunday paper. The Daily News also won an award for its Sunday edition.
The NENPA awards are based on all aspects of the papers, including reporting, writing, design and overall usefulness. Winners are chosen by a panel of newspaper readers.
