Four Central Massachusetts nonprofits were among the 112 recipients of BJ’s Charitable Foundation Grants this month that totaled more than $710,000.
The nonprofits chosen to receive the grants all serve those in need in regions where BJ’s Wholesale Clubs are located. The nonprofits focus on hunger prevention, self-sufficiency, health care or education.
The Central Massachusetts recipients are:
• Project Just Because Inc. in Hopkinton, which received $7,500 in support of the Hopkinton Food Pantry Program;
• Stow Community Chest Inc. in Stow, which received $5,000 for a hunger prevention program to buy food and food vouchers;
• Operation Outreach-USA Inc. in Holliston, which received $7,200 to purchase books, lesson plans, training materials and parent guides for the Operation Outreach Literacy program in the Fall River Public Schools Program; and
• Wayside Youth & Family Support Network in Framingham, which received $4,400 to purchase a hearing audiometer to perform hearing screenings.
The foundation has provided more than $17 million to more than 2,000 community organizations since 2005.
