Seven Central Massachusetts physician practices have been named to Harvard Pilgrim Health Care’s annual Physician Group Honor Roll highlighting groups that have achieved exceptional results in disease prevention and treatment.
The Wellesley-based insurer released this year’s honorees on Tuesday, including Acton Medical Associates; the Central Massachusetts Independent Physician Association based in Worcester; Charles River Medical Associates of Natick; Southborough Medical Group; Steward Greater Nashoba Local Chapter of Ayer; Tri-County Medical Associates of Milford, and UMass Memorial Health Care of Northern Worcester County.
Honorees were selected based on clinical performance measured against national standards set by the National Committee for Quality Assurance. Harvard Pilgrim reviewed performance in three clinical domains affecting adult and pediatric patients, include acute, chronic and preventative care. Groups selected based on points earned for performance on 15 measures, such as appropriate treatment for children with upper respiratory infection, diabetes care and breast cancer screenings.
