Five companies in Central Massachusetts have received perfect scores on the 2017 Corporate Equality Index from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
The 2017 CEI rated 1,043 businesses, evaluating LGBTQ-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs and public engagement with the LGBT community. Of those businesses, only 517 received a perfect score.

Also ranked on the list, but receiving a 90 out of 100 as it did last year, was The Hanover Insurance Group. The company was deducted points because it doesn't have an employee group or diversity council and in the public commitment category that covers support or outreach to the LGBTQ community.
