Contractors working on two development projects in Central Massachusetts - one in Natick and another in Northbridge - have been fined more than a half-million dollars for wage and tax violations, the state announced Wednesday.
Two of the five contractors fined by the state are in central Massachusetts, including AM Construction Services of Framingham and Two Bros. Construction in East Natick.
Other contracting firms from outside Central Massachusetts were cited for work performed on housing development projects in the region, including a 268-unit development in Natick and a 110-unit development in Northbridge.
Both housing developments are condominium projects owned by Pulte Homes, which was not fined by the state.
Officials from the state's Joint Enforcement Task Force on the Underground Economy and Employee Misclassification, which investigates labor law violations, levied the fines.
