Ten Central Massachusetts manufacturers were honored for excellence in their industry at a formal awards ceremony at the Massachusetts State House last week.
The 28 unique companies from across the state were nominated by their legislators in five categories, including job creation, education, sustainability, production, and innovation.
One of the honorees was Worcester-based Kinefac Corporation, a maker of metal forming machinery, which was nominated by Moore. Kinefac was honored for its innovative and dynamic manufacturing processes, according to a press release from the office of Senator Michael O. Moore (D-Millbury).
“Our highly skilled and loyal employees have driven innovations in our machine designs and have kept Kinefac a world leader in metal forming technology,” said Leslie E. Greis, owner of Kinefac.

The goal of the Manufacturing Caucus that gave out the awards is to increase the state’s competitiveness in the manufacturing sector through legislative initiatives. Lawmakers in the caucus focus on employee training, helping startups access innovative resources, and expanding apprenticeship opportunities in manufacturing, according to the release.
