The Worcester East Side Community Development Corporation is building eight one-bedroom apartments on Forbes Street to help residents in their recovery from substance abuse.
The units, which are under construction, will be subsidized by the Massachusetts Rental Voucher program through the state Department of Housing and Community Development and RCAP Solutions, a local nonprofit.
The CDC will hold a groundbreaking ceremony at the end of the month.
Funding for development is coming from the city of Worcester, Federal Home Loan Bank AHP Program, Avidia Bank, the Commonwealth Department of Housing and Community Development, and from a source used to finance housing for people served by the Department of Mental Health.
