Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Worcester was awarded $745,5000 in grant funding from the Center for Workforce Inclusion, Inc., of which almost 90% will help provide temporary employment to at least 79 low-income older workers in Franklin and Worcester Counties, according to a press release from the nonprofit.
The older workers will participate in the Senior Community Service Employment Program, part of the Older Americans Act. The program turns 55 years old this year.
The grant funding was funneled to the center through the U.S. Department of Labor.
