An affiliate of Equipment East, a Dracut-based heavy construction equipment sales company, purchased an industrial property off of Route 20 in Auburn for a new location.
The property was sold by a trust belonging to long-time owners of Motor Service, Inc., a truck repair company, who plan to retire, said Andrew Murray of A. Murray Real Estate, LLC, who represented the seller as the sole broker in the transaction.
The $3.8-million sale was completed on June 29 and included 250 Washington St. with a 15,500-square-foot industrial building, and 21 and 23 Technology Drive, two abutting lots of vacant land.
As the long-time owners of Motor Service, Inc., Casey family members have owned the property since 1978 and built the structure at 250 Washington St. in 1987 for their business, according to the Worcester District Registry of Deeds and Town of Auburn property records. The property is assessed by the Town of Auburn for $1.4 million.
This will be the fourth location for Equipment East, which has locations in Dracut, Brockton, and Bow, New Hampshire.
