Carrier Corp. acquires environmental consulting company
Farmington-based Carrier Corp., a provider of heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions, has acquired Environmental Market Solutions Inc., an environmental and green building consulting company with offices in Washington, D.C., Missouri, Beijing and Shanghai.
Established in 2000, EMSI provides sustainable design consulting services to building developers and owners. EMSI President Kenneth Langer and the company's management team will continue in their respective roles under Carrier Corp., a unit of United Technologies Corp..
"EMSI's market leading position in the United States and China, combined with an impressive global client list, will help expand Carrier's integrated green building design capabilities," said Kelly Romano, president of the building systems and services business of Carrier. "This is a perfect strategic fit as we enhance our broad sustainability expertise in the commercial building industry globally."
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
